Dr. Jae Kim is a board certified orthodontist that has been practicing in NYC his whole career. Dr. J comes from a family of dentists, but he had an unique career path to dentistry. After he graduated from University of Toronto with a bachelor in biomedical engineering, he worked as an engineer for 2 years before realizing that he wanted to follow the family footsteps. Dr. J moved to NYC to attend NYU School of Dentistry. He was in the top 1% throughout 4 years of dental school and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) Dental Honor Society. During dental school, he explored all fields of dentistry but orthodontics mesmerized him as its principles align with his engineering background.
Dr. J attended University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles to receive his Masters of Science and Certificate in dentofacial orthopedics and orthodontics. Upon completing his residency, he spent countless hours in being board certified. He is still an active member of American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) as well as many dental associations and study clubs. He dedicates most of his time studying and attending seminars when he is not seeing patients in the office. He is up-to-date with the latest technologies and conservative treatment methods.
